1. Contracting parties

These terms govern all safaris and travel arrangements booked with Wild Ramble Afrika, a licensed tour operator based in Nairobi, Kenya. A contract comes into effect when we issue a written confirmation invoice and receive the required deposit.

2. Deposits and payment

A deposit of 25% of the total tour price is payable at the time of booking, unless a higher amount is required to secure permits or peak-season camps. Gorilla and chimpanzee permits are payable in full at the time of booking and are non-refundable. The balance is due 60 days before arrival. Bookings made within 60 days of travel are payable in full.

3. Pricing

All prices are quoted in US dollars, per person, sharing, and are based on the costs, park fees, taxes and exchange rates prevailing at the time of quotation. Government-imposed park fees, taxes or fuel levies introduced after confirmation may be passed on at cost, with written notice.

4. Changes by you

You may request changes to your itinerary at any time before departure. We will do everything possible to accommodate them. Changes that reduce the cost will be refunded less any third-party cancellation charges; changes that increase the cost will be re-quoted.

5. Cancellation by you

Cancellations must be made in writing. Charges are: more than 60 days before arrival — deposit retained; 60–31 days — 50% of the tour price; 30–15 days — 75%; 14 days or fewer, or no-show — 100%. Gorilla permits, charter flights and peak-season camps may carry separate, stricter conditions which we will state at the time of booking.

6. Changes or cancellation by us

Occasionally camps close, roads become impassable, parks are gazetted for conservation activity or weather disrupts flights. We reserve the right to alter routes, camps or services, and will always offer an equivalent or superior alternative where possible. If we cancel for reasons other than force majeure, you are entitled to a full refund of monies paid for the affected services.

7. Insurance

Comprehensive travel and medical insurance, including emergency evacuation, is a condition of travel. Gorilla trekking requires a policy that covers trekking to the relevant altitude. You are responsible for ensuring your cover is adequate.

8. Health and fitness

You must inform us of any medical condition, disability or reduced mobility at the time of booking. Gorilla trekking and mountain treks involve strenuous walking at altitude; participation is at the discretion of the park authorities and guides, and is at your own risk.

9. Travel documents and visas

You are responsible for valid passports (normally with six months' validity beyond your return date), visas, vaccination certificates and any other entry requirements. We provide guidance but accept no liability if you are refused entry.

10. Liability

We act as an intermediary between you and the airlines, camps, transport operators, park authorities and guides that deliver your safari. We exercise care in selecting them but accept no liability for loss, damage, injury or delay caused by their acts, by weather, wildlife, political disruption, road conditions or any other event beyond our control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.

11. Conduct and wildlife

All travellers must follow the lawful instructions of guides, park rangers and camp management, including wildlife distance rules, drone prohibitions and photography restrictions. We may terminate the safari, without refund, of any traveller whose conduct endangers others, wildlife or the environment.

12. Complaints

Any complaint should be raised immediately with your guide or camp manager, and with our 24/7 operations line, so we can put it right on the spot. Unresolved complaints must be made in writing within 28 days of your return.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Nairobi have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
